I couldn’t believe it.I opened my emails this morning to find Medium had sent me a renewal notice. That means I’ve been here for one year.A whole year. Jumping beans! Where does the time go?I loved Medium from the moment I found it. I enjoyed so many of your stories. I was impressed with the standard of writing and the information people were willing to share — okay some of it isn’t so brilliant. There are articles that regurgitate staid advice, stuffy stuff that stuffs up our eyeballs and many topics that don’t hold my attention — no fault of the writer. I’d put myself firmly in the same pigeonholes.

Let’s get the money out of the way

In my first month on Medium I pulled in $45.70. I nearly made my subscription back in my first month.

Don’t think I didn’t work for it. I wrote 22 articles my first month. Lessons From My Wise Dad was the highest paying ($10).

Thinking back, it was like the beginning of a rollercoaster. The anticipation, the excitement, the scariness. Off I went at 100 miles an hour and it felt like I was on the right track.
