As a woke up today, I read the news that Ratan Tata is no longer among us. He passed away at the age of 86. He has been a beacon of values that we all can learn from.I mourned for sometime, the person whom I respect a lot for his Business Ethics and Kindness is no longer alive. India has lost a jewel and the whole world is mourning his death.

There are many things which we can learn from him, but I would like to mention some of the most important life lessons that I have learnt from him

  1. Being Humble

Despite his immense stature, he remained humble. No matter who we are, how successful we are or how much money we earn it doesn’t matter to the world. People are not going to remember how much money we had or how successful we were in our career, all they will remember is how well we treated them. So no matter how rich we are or how successful we are, we should be humble and not let success go in our head.

2. Being empathetic

Ratan Tata’s empathetic values were evident during the 26/11 attack when he personally visited victims and ensured lifelong care for citizens and hotel staff. It is important to show empathy to a person rather than showing sympathy. This also inculcates a feeling of close
