Different traumas can actually show up as physical ailments later in life. A doctor can have a patient come in with back pain, elbow pain symptoms and it’s happening as a result of mental health trauma they experience as a child.

How do Doctors work through that?

First you have to be honest and do a proper work up and make sure it’s not anatomical. It is proper to check the history of the patient. Have the patient do a physical exam, you have to get an Imaging to make sure there’s nothing going on with the patient anatomically and there’s no tear etc. Now, then, you see if the patient is open to talking about their past. A Doc. has to say: Hey I think that I’ve ruled out everything anatomically that could be wrong and I’m thinking that this is real, you are feeling this. I’m not saying this is in your head. The root cause is coming from something mental health related, do you want to try and talk about that. And if they’re open to it, the doctor does it and it works. We have pains all the time. We have aches as humans from sitting too long, from driving from playing sports, whatever it is and what controls the volume of the pain is our Mental Health.
