Introductory Note: A Literary Celebration in Three Acts

Today, March 11, 2024, we mark the 84th anniversary of Sebastião Alba with a unique tribute: the publication of his interview with Michel Laban, a journey into the heart of his poetry and thought. For organizational reasons, the interview is published in three parts. In the first, Michel Laban explores Alba’s influences and youth; the second part delves into his career, fraternity, and society; and the third part addresses his final perspectives and visions. Each segment is illustrated with images that depict significant moments of Alba’s life or visuals that bring his words to life.By combining the unfolding of the interview with complementary illustrations, we hope that readers will enjoy and appreciate the legacy of one of the most inquiring and brilliant minds of Lusophone literature.
