The song ‘Homies’ by the Insane Clown Posse (ICP) is a classic song from the Millenium era. I remember watching the music video for the first time at my grandmother’s house before I was a teenager. I couldn’t identify with the song’s message at that time. It wasn’t until I became a teenager that I learned the value of having homies through thick and thin.As an early 2000s teenager in the United States of America, I identify with basically all of the verses in this song:

I grew up in a classic dysfunctional family. I had some personal issues in getting along with my divorced parents and extended family members.
