What happened to Trump? We have already had it twice in Italy

Yesterday, was the target of an assassination attempt that injured his right ear. The former president was fortunate because it could have ended much worse. I hope he recovers quickly from this (it’s not okay to resort to violence, even if you disagree with someone politically). Still, it made me think of what happened to i years ago. He was the right-wing prime minister who influenced Italian politics for at least two decades. He was known for his rough sexism, racism, and vulgar populism.It was on the evening of December 13, 2009, when was greeting the crowd that had gathered at Milan’s “Piazza del Duomo” after holding a rally when a 42-year-old man named Massimo Tartaglia attacked him with a souvenir statuette depicting the Milan Cathedral. The prime minister was hit in the face, and his nose was broken. The image that I remember from that event is of Berlusconi standing up in the car, which would later take him to the hospital for assessments. He wanted to show himself still alive and strong in the eyes of his supporters, who were very angry at the man responsible for the attack and were going to lynch him.
