What is before the Big Bang?

For centuries, philosophers and scientists have asked the same question:

What was God doing before creating the world?

In the 4th century, philosopher Augustine of Hippo provided an intriguing answer: there was no “before.” According to him,
time itself did not exist until God created the universe,
Making the question invalid. This idea has fascinated thinkers, and now, in the scientific world, a similar question has emerged: what came before the Big Bang? What was God doing before He created the world? Back in the 4th century, philosopher Augustine of Hippo posed this question. His answer? Before God created the world, there was no time. There was no “before.” The question itself is invalid.
And when it comes to the universe, you could repeat this same logic — asking
what came before the Big Bang? Most astronomers would say “nothing.”
Time, space, and matter began with that sudden explosion we call the Big Bang.
