The pro-Palestinian protests on American campuses continue to overtake headlines in the volatile world of current affairs these days. University students and faculty members of prestigious and non-prestigious American universities do not seem to be backing down. But for how much longer can they keep this up?I imagine that this is one way to get the engines running for the upcoming 2024 US presidential election. Once the US presidential election kicks into full gear, American citizens will have a lot more to gripe and fuss about other than foreign policy concerns.
Indeed, the practice of people coming together for sharing ideas and exchanging views does seem obsolete. People prefer to get all of their information online, where they are free to pick and choose which opinions matter more to them, without having to face another person’s different point of view. Technology has changed how people view the world, and, therefore, how people view one another during times of social upheaval and economic distress. I believe the latter is relevant to this commentary in several ways.
