The US election will take place on November 5, 2024. Kamala Harris and Donald Trump will compete in the presidential elections. What is more important to the US allies: the outcomes. The US foreign policy during Trump was “Free and Open Indo-Pacific.” However, he also threatened his allies whenever necessary. During his term, the Indo-Pacific allies, such as Japan, South Korea, and Australia, were more concerned about their ties with the US. As Biden entered the Oval Office, he repaired some of the damage done to the relations. One major obstacle was the presence and rise of China to the US administration. The objectives of the US administration might not change, but their directions might change. Nevertheless, China closely observes the foreign policy of the US during the new administration, as Beijing will prefer Trump over Haris.Some common challenges for both administrations include rebuilding ties with the allies, new policies combating China’s rise in the Indo-Pacific, security challenges in the Middle East, and trade terms with China. Both accuse each other of infiltration. The US accuses China of sending spy balloons into US territory while reminding the Chinese of cyber attacks.
