Northern Towns Burn as IDF Struggles to Intercept Hezbollah’s UAVs
The government still does not have plans for how to secure the north so that residents can return after 9 months, and senior officials refuse to give interviews
Several large fires are burning throughout the Galilee and Golan Heights, including in and around Kiryat Shmona, Metula, Keren Naftali, Mevo Hama, Amiad, Tel Hai, Kfar Giladi, Kfar Blum, and other towns.These fires are being caused by the dozens of daily rocket and drone attacks launched into northern Israel by Hezbollah from Lebanon.The Iron Dome air defense system has not been able to intercept Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), i.e. drones, with the same efficiency that it intercepts rockets.In some cases, the Iron Dome has intercepted Israeli surveillance drones by mistake.As a result, many of Hezbollah’s UAVs have been able to strike targets in Israel, including military bases and residential areas.
