Many failing students are pushed onto the next grade along with their peers who passed, and I believe this has hurt many of them.

What is socially promoted?According to Google, “Social promotion refers to the practice of promoting students to the next grade level based on their age rather than their academic performance.”

Social promotion has been around for over a century and will continue as a crucial part of the system of schooling in America. Research suggests by Kathryn M. Doherty , “that promoting unprepared students does little to increase their achievement or life chances.”

Are children socially promoted in schools regardless of their academic performance around the world?According to research, Yes. The practice of “social promotion,” where students are moved to the next grade level even if they haven’t fully mastered the current grade’s material, is prevalent in education systems.”
