My soul is torn,Where once your hand lay.Dream by dream, you have shattered them,In the mismeeting of our lips.I am hungry! I am cold! And you never came to silenceThe voices of my despair.Yet, just yesterday,We walked side by side as friendsAlong the city’s desolate streets,As if nothing were,And nothing was, indeed,For you are nothingBut a ghost,And ghosts are truly nothing. We spoke of so many thingsWe hadn’t pondered,Of sun and wind, of life and trivial things. And you laughed, you laughed so much,Not knowing that with each word, each pause,I wanted to throw myself under each passing car,Just to hear one cry of shock from you,
