We all have preferences towards colours:
Orange, blue, crimson, or off-white.
It does not matter,
when it comes to rainbows,
or the colours in our head,
we go gaga.

But why, when it comes to humans,
is it only black or white?

Sophisticated yet primitive,
we have taken time to evolve —
evolved to the finesse of
perfect fragmentation
of a common factor:
us.

Based on colour and class,
we started,
and now it
doesn’t matter;
we have progressively moved
to the only one:
us.

Words spoken, songs sung,
speeches delivered, marches led,
wars fought.
Yet our foolishness remains undefeated.
Sigh.

Colour, colour, what colour?
We choose:
Red.
