Vintage styles from the 70s and 90s are making a big comeback this Halloween. Although witches, vampires, and ghosts are still always perennial favorites, Halloween is like a montage and a parade of the scariest costumes your mind can devise. As always, your costume is as good as your imagination can make it, and people go all out every year.But besides the costumes, the biggest thrill for me has always been the annual trip to the pumpkin patch with the kids. In San Francisco, there is a huge pumpkin patch area about 25 miles south of the city called Half Moon Bay. Nestled in among the beautiful coastal scenery are several huge pumpkin patches just lying there waiting with thousands of pumpkins to choose from. To children, it’s like a backstage pass to Santa’s workshop.When my daughter was younger, visiting Half Moon Bay, the self-proclaimed Pumpkin Capital Of The World was an annual pilgrimage. We would always bring a friend or two of hers along for the ride and to join in the fun.
