If you ever played a video game (such as a racing, fighting, or platformer game), and you wanted an item to help you win the race or complete a level, the item you received is not what you want. For example, you want an item that will harm the opponent. So you come into contact with the item box to gather the said item, and you end up with the item that will give you super speed instead of the one that will harm the opponent. As a result, you’ll lose the race or a life in a video game. This frustrates or frightens you when this happens. Sometimes, you get the desired item (if you’re lucky). In other instances, you get an item that you don’t want. What is going on?In computer technology, randomness, the quality or state of having no definite aim or purpose (in other words, lack of sequence), is in video games, applications, and storage drives. Just think of randomness as rolling dice blocks, operating a slot machine, or spinning a roulette wheel. How did randomness end up in computer technology?
