Cell phones are revolutionary inventions that shape and mold our lives every day. We are so dependent on them for almost everything that it is hard to imagine life without them. By 2009, they had achieved 94% market saturation. Now fast forward to 2024 and 7.2 billion people worldwide use smartphones, 97% between 18–49 years old. Almost half of the people in the United States spend 5–6 hours daily on them. Generation Z, often referred to as digital natives, was the first to grow up with cell phones. Smartphones are like portable mini-computers.We are dependent on them in every aspect of our daily lives. Like making and taking actual calls, constantly texting back and forth with friends and relatives, conducting business transactions, frequently looking up facts on Google, and taking ubiquitous selfies of ourselves and our friends to commemorate every social event. And what is especially cool for those who grew up with the old school AT&T, we can call up anybody anywhere, at any time of the day or night without ever incurring the old and dreaded long-distance call rates. They are mobile, take perfect pictures, and let us play games on them to amuse and connect us all. Nobody I know ever leaves their homes…
