The first major holiday of the season is in the books now, and this Halloween is pressed forevermore like the cherished memories we were able to accumulate like colorful falling autumn leaves in our book of memories. The fall season is officially underway now, and next on the national holiday agenda is Thanksgiving, my personal favorite holiday. Food, family, and football, what’s not to like? But a lot of us are still savoring the sweet treats of Halloween, the hard-earned chocolates, the cookies, the candy corn we gathered in the sometimes arduous process of trick or treating with our kids. It will take a few days of dedicated munching to restore that sweet inventory to manageable proportions. But where there’s a will, there’s a way!We are up to the task, ready for the day after, tired but triumphant and most of us feel a much-justified feeling of mixed gratitude and relief. Halloween is a hands-on holiday for parents. There is the always serious matter of helping our kids pick out just the right costume, and this changes every year. Nobody wants to wear the same costume they did the year before, oh no way.
