Exploring the Inner Cosmos
My written prayers are a map
to guide me in my explorations.
Some is traced from others’ maps
if I recognize the terrain.
Mostly, I record the trails I’ve taken
with notes on areas that
need further exploration.
My written prayers are sound-recording devices
that take me to where the sounds of nature are
most beautiful and clear.
The noise of the elements:
wind howl, fire crackle, water trickle, ocean roar;
the sounds of earthquakes, volcanoes and waterfalls.
I listen for clues
of origin and transformation.
I hum along with
frequencies and vibrations.
My written prayers are a soup kitchen
for the homeless
where I and countless others
continually cook and serve
hot nutrients
for the hungry.
My written prayers are the entry
into the majestic cathedral turned health-spa.
