Dear Readers,The loss of a loved one is the biggest stressor imaginable. One that impacts us so strongly, that we lose not only the person we love, but we can lose ourselves. The pain of losing someone can be all-consuming.When we are dealing with a pain and loss so enormous, we are incapable of functioning normally, because our harmonious state of being is out of balance.

Grieving is as natural as crying when you are hurt, sleeping when you are tired, eating when you are hungry, or sneezing when your nose itches. It is nature’s way of healing a broken heart.” — Doug Manning.

It can feel like a physical ache or a wave of completely unexpected emotions like anger, guilt, or relief. For others, it’s a spiritual challenge, casting doubt on our firmest beliefs.*

In this essay, we will not explain what death is, what the stages of grief are, what are normal, and what abnormal reactions to the meeting with death are. We will explore what can help us deal with death.

Recently I lost both one of my students and one of my closest friends from childhood. The pain is there and it is clinging to the heart and making it ache.
