During a 30-minute call between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Biden, the incursion by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) into Rafa in Gaza was again addressed. US leadership opposes the move as millions of Gaza residents have been displaced in the 7-month war. With few places left for refugees to shelter, the UN and other agencies underscore the severity of food, water, and gas shortages.President Biden then hosted a lunch with King Abdul Mohammed the Second of Jordan. Biden stressed the importance of a good working relationship with Jordan going forward.
