4 days agoI’m 47, and four months ago, I decided to completely change my life. What started as a simple 30-minute walk each day turned into a walk/run routine, and within just four weeks, I ran my first 5km non-stop!
I was exhausted, and everything in my body screamed for me to stop, feeling nauseous along the way, yet I did it!
I lay on the grass right after reaching the 5km mark, out of breath, looking up at the sky, crying.I didn’t know I could do this, yet I finished in 38:38 minutes.
Two months later, I entered a 5km charity race that was super hilly and really took a toll on my body, but I ran my best time: 36:30 minutes.
And guess what? I’m doing it again! Tomorrow!!
The Road2Hope Hamilton Marathon takes place on November 2nd at 10 a.m. for the 5km race, and I will be volunteering the next day at the finish line for the big marathon event!
