If you grew up in the U.S. as a Christian, then you’ve likely heard about the “rapture” all of your life, and the way it’s mentioned by Christians and especially their pastors would lead one to believe that the details of this event are spelled out in the Bible, but they’re not.All during my childhood and early adulthood even I suspected this entire event was talked about in detail in the book of Revelation, and from what I’ve gathered from other Christians, they basically assumed the same thing. Seeing as how most Christians don’t read the Bible on their own, and especially avoid the book of Revelation since it’s written in such an esoteric way, it’s understandable how they come to this conclusion.For those who may not be fully aware of what the “rapture” entails, I will give a brief summary.The “rapture” is said to occur right before the seven years of tribulation, in this event all Christians who are saved will suddenly vanish and meet Jesus up in the sky, and basically be assumed into Heaven, in turn sparing them the suffering of the tribulation.Then of course during the tribulation, people will have a short period of time to get saved as well, before Christ’s return to reign on Earth for a thousand years, then…
