“If you were to lay out all of the arteries, capillaries and veins in one adult, end-to-end, they would stretch about which means a person’s blood vessels could wrap around the planet approximately 2.5 time”
You cheeky bastard, you fell for this lie, didn’t you? Don’t worry; So, did I. It’s a shame, but we were made fools.Ah, we love numbers and stats so much that all of us fell for this. You can google this fact right now and hundreds of articles would pop up supporting the claim, but all of it was a lie.According to the latest research, the new total length is around 10,313 miles or 16,598 Km.Is this enough to go around the equator? No, it isn’t.The length of the equator is 24,901 miles or 40,075 Km. Our capillaries will barely cover a third of the equator, which is nowhere near enough to wrap around the planet 2.5 times. What’s my source you may ask? Hehe, my first source was Kurzgesagt, after which I read their webpage and source articles (a little) and went through some of the latest scientific papers written on the subject. I’ll mention all of them…
