Some things I have done in this life, even repeatedly, have brought me no success.I wasn’t necessarily looking for an award, but at the time, I thought they would at least take me somewhere.Well, that didn’t happen, and that’s why I’m here to tell you that if you’re like me and doing some of the following things, there’s no award for that.
#1: Never saying no
There’s no award for never saying no. This behavior often stems from being a people-pleaser.Let’s use Nimo as an example. Nimo would end her shift at work, sometimes a night shift, and then attend a friend’s function. She did this because she never wanted to disappoint any of her friends. Are you like Nimo? Have you found yourself saying yes to friends, family, or work when deep down you know your answer is no?Saying yes to others when you know your answer should be no means you’re actually saying no to yourself. And I don’t think saying no to yourself feels good at all.
Learning to say no is an act of self-love. It’s about knowing your boundaries, understanding what you are capable of and what you’re not, and recognizing that…
